NEED TO LET GO OF ANY OF THESE 4 THINGS?

Ever feel like life is tough? Like a juggling act where you are constantly in fear of dropping your balls? You are not alone. And yet, what we worry could be baseless. We're making life tough for ourselves because we are creating the things we worry about.

The 'Letting Go Suggestion' series of four artworks is based on Mark Manson's bestseller 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: a counterintuitive approach to living a good life'. Each represents one way you can free yourself of a concern or worry that maybe of your own making.

Suggestion #1: Let go of worrying what other people think of you. Letting go of what you tell yourself other people think of you can be intensely liberating. The truth is, you'll never really know what people really think of you (and most of the time they are not thinking of you at all). Unleash yourself from the confines of what you're supposed to be doing. Wear what makes you feel good. Say what you want to say. Find the courage to live your life.

Suggestion #2: Let go of your fear of failure. If you are striving for something worthwhile, failure is an inevitable part of the journey. Yet, fear of failure can hold you back from even trying. Embrace failure and liberate yourself with the word 'Yet'. It's powerful. Rather than failure, you're learning. You aren't there yet - but you are on your way.

Suggestion #3: Let go of attempting to be perfect. Ah, perfection! You are a beautiful thing. But if you find yourself getting frustrated or despondent because you aren't perfect, let go of that frustration. No-one is perfect. Embrace the mess, the chaos of life and aim for 'your best'. Aiming for perfection can stop you from even starting. 'A great job done now' is better than a 'perfect job never done'.

Suggestion #4: Let go of comparing your life with others. If you compare yourself with other - pause a moment. Take a breath and remember the positive things in your life. There will always be people better, and worse, off than you. None of us knows what joys and sorrows are going on with other people. Instead, of worrying that you're life isn't as good as someone else's - embrace the good that is in yours.
