ABOUT
This line of poetry gets to the heart of why we created ABSTRAKTOLOGIE.
What is life if we don't pause and stop for a moment? What value do our lives have if we are too busy to notice anything? Art of any kind can stop us in our tracks (be it music, theatre, poetry or paintings). That is their beauty. We are captured for a precious moment IN the moment.
The purpose of ABSTRAKTOLOGIE is to connect those in search of living well with learning from books on personal development, psychology and leadership. We do this by creating original abstract art infused with these lessons.
Our paintings can be hung in your home or office to remind you what you most want to learn. Maybe it's confidence, maybe it's to rediscover the lost art of listening or perhaps it's simply to allow yourself permission to pause and breathe deeply a few times a day.
- Abstract art, doesn't have to be about anything in particular.
- It simply asks us to pause and spend a moment with it.
- It invites our curiosity and encourages us to think for ourselves.
Abstract art is non-representational. It can be whatever you want it to be.
You don't have to understand it, but you might love it anyway.
Whatever it is, remember that only you can decide what to do with your 'one wild and precious life'. Only you can decide how you respond to the challenges you face every day, to be grateful for what you do have or how you put your unique skills and talents to use in this world.
Anna is a an award-winning artist and graduate of the Glasgow School of Art (BA Hons). She is Chartered Occupational Psychologist (BSc, MSc CPsychol) and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS). That all sounds very grand. Essentially, she loves art and is fascinated by people (particularly people at work).
It's the fusion of these loves which became ABSTRAKTOLOGIE.
"I admit to being something of a 'self-help' junkie, though I prefer 'lifelong learner'. Throughout my coaching and consulting career, I've sought out the best books and psychological models to help myself - and others - keep learning.
I really care about people's well-being (my own included) and know how curiosity and learning can help us continue growing throughout our lives. I want people to thrive. But how can you thrive at home if you can't thrive at work? Or vice versa? ABSTRAKTOLOGIE is about promoting a healthy balance in our lives. We need that more than ever now.
We live with so much uncertainty and change and that can be overwhelming. I would love you to pause and discover lessons that can help you manage living in our everchanging, volatile world a bit better. I invite you to be curious, more creative and to focus on what's important - really important - to you.
You often hear the quote: 'Do what you love and you'll never work another day in your life.' I can honestly say that I'll keep learning my whole life, I want to paint my whole life and above all - I want to help you to live your life well."
WHY ABSTRAKTOLOGIE?
To help myself and others keep learning and live life with more confidence, creativity and kindness. That's our 'why'. At ABSTRAKTOLOGIE we create unique pieces of art to take you forwards on your journey to living well.
OUR MISSION: Create original abstract art to share lessons in living well.
