WHICH BOOKS INSPIRE OUR ART WORKS?

Some of these books have been sitting on our bookshelves for nearly 20 years. Others are very recent editions to the collection. Wildly diferent in style, form and content - they all have share a common goal - Living Well.

Whether you achieve a better life through more confidence, a different mindset, letting go of Ego and fears, or having a more insightful understanding of your own psychology - each book has a unique perspective - and lessons and inspiration for personal growth.

Many of the titles will be known to you. You will likely have read some of them. Take Stephen Covey's 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People'. It's the book most people say they have heard of, but never read. Yet, despite being one of the oldest publications in our library - it's consistently the one which provides insightful tools each and every time it is read. We suggest revisting Covey's book every year or two.

Covey's book has inspired artworks for the 'Letting Go' series and the 'Good Habits, Great Life' collection.

In contrast, journalist Kate Murphy's dissertation on Listening (or the lack of it) is a 2020 purchase. The whole book is a wake up call, urging you to 'listen properly'. Murphy shares timely suggestions on ways to hone your listening skills and warns what you will lose out on if you don't. See the artworks this book inspired.

Why do we base our artworks on these books?

Our aim at ABSTRAKTOLOGIE is to share lessons from the books which have had the biggest impact on our own personal growth. These are the books we keep coming back to, the ones we have recommended more than any others. That's our promise to you - to find and share these nuggets of wisdom - so you can live your life well and continue your lifelong learning journey.
