What inspired the artwork?
Another artwork painted in response to Stephen Covey's seminal bestseller 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People'.
This painting looks into your Circles of Concern and Influence. Taken from the first habit (on page 83) it gets to the heart of self-awareness and how knowing where you spend your time and energy will guide you to spend that time and energy wisely.
Covey tells us to be proactive, to focus our energy on the things that we can do something about. Make it your habit to take responsibility and take action in the areas that matter to you.
Ever find yourself blaming others? Accusing the outside world for things happening in your life? It's easy to do, yet Covey reminds us that we get more out of life when we expand our circles of influence (and control) - and lose out by when we are reactive and focus on areas outside of our control.
The bright colours in the painting reflect the ways in which you can make a difference - and the layers build up on each other to describe how you can positively influence your life in so many ways, if you can adopt and maintain the habit of proactivity.
