What inspired the artwork?

This series of paintings was inspired after re-reading Mark Manson's irreverent book 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: a counterintuitive approach to living a good life'. 

Do you find yourself getting angry at the news? Frustrated by the demands from work? Your family? Or society?

Manson's manifesto is not about not caring. It's the opposite. It's a book about choosing what to care about.

There are four paintings in the series, each with a suggestion of how to let go:

Suggestion # 1: Letting go of what you tell yourself other people think of you can be intensely liberating. The truth is, you'll never really know what people think of you (and most of the time they don't think of you at all). Unleash yourself from the confines of what you're supposed to be doing. Wear what makes you feel good. Say what you want to say. Find the courage to live your life. 

This painting is a cheeky little composition which doesn't care what the other paintings in the series think of it. It kind of doesn't fit with the other three. And that's okay. It can stand on it's own - and stand apart in the crowd - just fine.
