What inspired the artwork?

This series of paintings was inspired after re-reading Mark Manson's irreverent book 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: a counterintuitive approach to living a good life'. 

Do you find yourself getting angry at the news? Frustrated by the demands from work? Your family? Or society?

Manson's manifesto is not about not caring. It's the opposite. It's a book about choosing what to care about.

Suggestion #2: If you are striving for something worthwhile, failure is an inevitable part of the journey. Yet, fear of failure can hold you back from even trying. Embrace failure and liberate yourself with the word 'Yet'. It's powerful. Rather than failure, you're learning. You aren't there yet - but you are on your way.

This painting is a feisty little composition which had it's fair share of failure. And that's okay. It was painted with courage and gusto and we stuck with the artwork until we got to where we wanted it to be. That is a delightful art work that knows getting stuck in, and risking failure, is more rewarding than sitting on the sidelines watching.
