What inspired the artwork?

Do your find your life is full of things you 'should', 'must', 'can't' do? Do you find yourself saying 'If only...' or 'there's nothing I can do?' If this sounds familiar, this painting is for you. The aim of this artwork is to get you thinking about your energy and how you use it. It's about letting go of what you can't control and focusing on what you can.

This artwork was painted after re-reading the first habit of Stephen Covey's timeless classic book: 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People'.

This piece is a reminder to choose how you respond to what's going on in your life. If you expend your energy on things outside your control, your energy flows away from you. You become exhausted, anxious and overwhelmed. You are at the whim and mercy of the world and everyone in it. You have to do things, you must, you should.

But when you act from your Circle of Influence, your energy is positive, it turns towards you. You are the one making the decisions, you have chosen to let go of what you cannot control. You can do things, you will, you want to.

This lovely little artwork has bright colours, and energetic splashes of gold. It reminds you that your life is precious, that your energy is finite. Use it on the things that matter to you, expend your energy positively to take responsibility (rather obligation).

This is about taking charge of yourself. It's about choosing your response to your circumstances, which in turn will powerfully affect your day and your life.
